The purpose of Olive Street Presbyterian Church is to make, mature, and mobilize disciples to love and serve Jesus Christ.
Making disciples through biblical preaching, support of Christian marriages and families, involvement in neighborhood outreach, and local evangelism and worldwide missions.
Maturing disciples through worship, teaching, discipleship, the sacraments, and prayer.
Mobilizing disciples to serve Christ locally and beyond.
Olive Street Presbyterian Church would like to extend our hand of fellowship to you. As members of the Presbyterian Church in America, we believe in the great doctrines of the reformers. More importantly, we believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and in His Word the Bible. We desire to love and serve God with our whole heart, mind, soul, and strength, relying on His grace and mercy, given to us by belief in the Son, to display the fruits of such love toward others.
No one who believes in Jesus as Lord ever came to such a belief on his or her own strength. Rather, we were called and regenerated by the determination of the Father working through the Holy Spirit who made us to want to desire to be one of His children. The congregation is made up of people who have been adopted as sons and daughters of our heavenly Father. All who believe in the Lord Christ are one and the same members of that family of God. There are no grandchildren in God’s family and all of us take part through God’s Spiritual adoption process. “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” Gal 3:28 ESV.
Our identity in the family of God makes us want to worship God together as saints. We want to share the good news of the gift of salvation with those around us. We desire to preach the Gospel every day, first to ourselves, to remind us of God’s mercy and love for us, and then to others in our sphere of influence to build up the church of God in love and to call others to the family of God. Our worship service seeks to continue this message as a body and family of God. We hope you come and visit us to be part our love feast toward the Lord, to glorify and enjoy Him who called us into His marvelous grace.
