English as a Second Language provides a way for Olive Street Presbyterian Church to show the love of Christ and welcome the world to our church. It is one of the ways that we seek to show the love of Christ to our local community.
[Mat 9:37-38 ESV] 37 Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; 38 therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest."
Please pray to the Lord for His help in bringing an abundant harvest into the storehouse. God is the one who needs to give the increase. It is He who gives people to plant and people to water, but He himself causes the plants to grow. Also, when you pray for the laborers and the plants, pray earnestly and consider your role in fulfilling God’s great commission. When we have done well to the least of these, we have done it unto God.
Jesus told us to go and make disciples of all the nations, and to teach them all the things he has commanded. In God’s providence, he has brought the world’s community to our doorstep. This makes it all the more necessary to reach out to our community in love and provide for the needs of the world brought near to us, that we may be all things to all men that we may lovingly share the good news to some. We need prayer partners in this ministry first and foremost. Second, as you pray, please ask God for your role in teaching or helping to serve and share with the world’s community.
After praying, if you are interested in serving in this ministry at Olive Street, please fill out the volunteer form.
